Chris Proctor is a graduate of the Jazz Course at Birmingham Conservatoire.

A seasoned and experienced Big Band player, Chris has occupied every chair in the sax section. Before his move to Birmingham, he was a member Doncaster Youth Jazz Association, recording the allaboutjazz.com top 10 album Discover the Spirit, touring France and Germany as well as nationwide.

As a regular member of the Conservatoire’s Jazz Orchestra Chris was involved with a projects featuring vangaurd New York drummer John Hollenbeck, vocalist Theo Bleckmann, Pianist Gary Versace, celebrated composer/arranger Michael Gibbs, vocalist Christine Tobin and has performed the big band compositions of Dave Holland for the Bassist's visit in November 2006.

Chris has been part of the administrative team behind Cheltenham Jazz Festival as an intern over the previous two years and turned his skills towards organising the 2008 Conservatoire Jazz Orchestra Tour, in collaboration with Mike Gibbs. For more information visit our words section...
