Garry has had his work published in numerous photographic publications, newspapers and books, winning several awards for his widely exhibited work. This ranges from pictorial images, portraits, landscapes to jazz photography -  for which he has become best known for. The latter gives him an opportunity to combine photography with his other major passion in life, Jazz, which has provided the soundtrack to his life.

His high-quality shots of many live-music events in the city were invaluable in the making of cobwebcollective.com. His images reflect the panorama of diverse musical situations taking place in Birmingham, and is a regular audience member at Symphony Hall's Rush Hour Blues.

Garry Corbett first began taking photographs in 1964 at the age of 10 after receiving a Kodak Instamatic camera as a birthday present. It was the mid - 1970's, following the purchase of his first Nikon SLR camera, that he began to take photography a little more seriously. There followed a long learning process, a journey which he considers he's still making. For many years he was a member of Great Barr Photographic Society including a period as Chairman, Promotions Secretary and Membership Secretary. He has also been an Associate Member of the Royal Photographic Society.

Garry worked for 25 years in the record industry, much of this time spent in sales and promotion. He is also a published poet and has performed his poetry live.
