The Hare & Hounds is a fine example of the many Victorian pubs dotted around Birmingham, still with many of its orginal wooden and tiled features.

Located in the sudurban centre of Kings Heath it is a haven for the alternative bohemian nightlife in the area.

The two ground-floor bars offer a wide range of european draughts and an innovative food offers, to enjoy amongst a mish-mash of retro furniture.

The 2nd floor houses two performance venues - one narrow smaller room, perfect for intimate audience level performances and a larger risen theatre setting in tho other. Both have featured a whole host of international, national and local artists.

Birmingham Jazz and free improvisation promoters FRIMP have now started running jazz nights upstairs.
