The Midland Art Centre is the most visited venue of its kind in the Midlands, enjoying over 500,000 visitors a year.

Over the past 30 years the centre has been making innovative creative arts activities an important part of people’s lives, with great exhibitions, performances and educational programmes as part of their 600 annual events.

Birmingham Jazz host many concerts in the main auditorium, seating 204 persons. The staged hall provides a formal setting ideal for small acoustic groups but not lacking in the intimacy of a smaller venue. The M.A.C’s smaller hexagonal theatre is used monthly for the Invention Convention, a series of free improvised concerts run by Mike Hurley in association with Birmingham Jazz.

Located a mile south of the City Centre adjoining Cannon Hill Park in Edgbaston, the centre is a relaxed and friendly place for all the family, with a café and shop as well as a lively bar.

M.A.C is soon to be receiving three years of expansion and renovation work, providing larger performance and exhibition spaces. Although events here will soon be sadly missed the long term future looks bright for creative arts at this centre.
