Birmingham native and Conservatoire jazz course graduate Mike Fletcher is a master woodwind player, bandleader and composer.
Playing regularly throughout the city Mike leads many ensembles, notably his quartet with german composer/pianist Hans Koller and leading free drummer Mark Sanders. His sextet evokes his love of 60's Blue-Note writing and have been featured at both the Yardbird and Symphony Hall's Rush Hour Blues. His musical palette is wide and varied, influencing and playing in more straight ahead situations as well as world-based projects such as Frank Moon's Desert Grooves and Tom Chapman's Found Objects.
Mike also collaborates frequently with John Randall, Dan Nicholls, Simon Spreyer, Rob Anstey and many other artists.
