Twins Chris and Huw Morgan, originally from Gosport, Hampshire are graduates of the Birmingham Conservatoire jazz course. As active musicians on the city scene the brothers are familiar faces at concerts and jam sessions, performing frequently with numerous artists and their own sextet.
Tenor saxophonist Chris holds the the tenor chair in Fat Chops big band and is a member of the bestselling Joe Archer Quartet. Altoist Huw is a member of the Yardbird Nonet house band, and trumpeter Ray Butcher's ensembles. In 2004 Huw reached the final of the Pizza Express young jazz musician prize in Soho, London gaining positive reviews in the national press. Huw was also involved in Bobby Previte's Bitches Brew Project at the 2005 Cheltenham Jazz Festival and both have receivied tutoring from the likes of Dave Holland and Lee Konitz and Stan Sultzman.
Both brothers also play in the Manchester-based Northwest Nine band featuring the likes of Neil Yates on trumpet, Colin Mills on Baritone and John Ellis on Piano, to name a few.
