ADRIAN BOULT HALL

The Adrian Boult Hall is the largest venue in Birmingham Conservatoire seating 520 people and housing large concerts. High profile acts on the Birmingham Jazz programme are placed here such as the Dave Holland Quintet, Kenny Wheeler’s 70th Birthday Big Band and Joshua Redman trio. >>

CBSO CENTRE

Built in 1998 as a rehearsal space for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the CBSO Centre also operates as a concert venue and educational space. Birmingham Jazz host the majority of their main, high-profile concerts here as its lofty ceiling and adjustable acoustic is wonderfully versatile and complements all acts, trio to jazz orchestras. >>

THE CROSS

Criss-Cross jazz nights are held every tuesday evening The Cross bar's spacious upstairs room. Music starts at 8.30 with support bands featuring some of the city's finest young musicians, followed by a main act of national standing. Julian Seigel, Liam Noble and Troyka are some of the artists to have graced the stage here. Entry is free. >>

LIBRARY THEATRE

The Library Theatre is one of Birmingham’s lesser-known venues. Housed in the Central Library complex its entrance is beside the Adrian Boult Hall box office. It is also linked to the Conservatoire building and is used in conjunction with the facilities for conferences and festivals. >>

RECITAL HALL

The Recital Hall is Birmingham Conservatoire’s smaller performance venue seating 150 people, suiting solo and chamber music recitals and smaller groups. Birmingham Jazz regularly use the hall for visiting artists such as Jerry Bergonzi and the Rich Core Trio. >>

SYMPHONY HALL

Opening in 1991 Symphony Hall gave the city a venue of international standing and is considered to be one of the finest concert halls in the U.K. As well as housing the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the venue offers a wide and diverse programme of classical, jazz, folk, pop music and stand-up comedy. >>

THE WHITE SWAN

The Polo sessions are a weekly Monday night event happening at the White Swan pub, just off Broad Street. Starting in November 2007 as it has become another opportunity for musicians to meet and play together and have been steadily increasing in popularity and attendance ever since. >>

THE YARDBIRD

The Yardbird Jazz Club is Cobweb Collective’s spiritual home and the venue of our flagship night. >>

BASH BAR

The Bash Bar is an underground basement venue with a capacity of 80 persons. With its dim lighting, framed Blue Note art and plush leather furniture you could be mistaken in thinking you just stepped into a mid sixties New York club. >>

THE GLEE CLUB

The Glee Club is Birmingham’s premier comedy club, hosting the best in stand-up three nights a week as well as being a popular spot on the singer/songwriter circuit. >>

THE JAM HOUSE

The Jam House has been running as a live music venue since 1999, opened by its then owner TV host and pianist, Jools Holland. >>

MAC

The Midland Art Centre is the most visited venue of its kind in the Midlands, enjoying over 500,000 visitors a year. >>

CORKS CLUB

Bearwood's Cork Club holds its jazz night every Thursday evening from 8pm, hosted by the city's veteran sax player Andy Hamilton. >>

GUILD OF STUDENTS

The Birmingham University Guild of Students bar is home to the many events run by JaBsoc, the university's Jazz and Blues society. Jam sessions are run fortnightly and absolutely anyone with an axe to grind is welcome, in the musical sense. >>

RAINBOW

The Rainbow Pub is situated in Birmingham's Irish quartet, Digbeth beside the artistic hub that is the Custard Factory. Including a cleared indoor stage area in the main bar and and a larger covered outside stage. >>

TOWN HALL

Birmingham’s oldest and most esteemed performance space reopened in 2007 after 11 years of neglect and restoration. It is run and programmed by the same organisation that manages Symphony Hall. >>

The Live Box ia a weekley performance arts event that takes place in Birmingham every Sunday evening.
