The recital hall is Birmingham Conservatoire’s smaller performance venue seating 150 people, suiting solo and chamber music recitals and smaller groups. Birmingham Jazz regularly use the hall for visiting artists such as Jerry Bergonzi and the Rich Core Trio.

It also houses many concerts put on by the conservatoire jazz course, performances by student ensembles, the college jazz orchestra and most recently two bands formed to perform the music of artist-in-residence Dave Holland, who has also performed solo here. 

Recently refurbished, the space has an open, modern feel and is acoustically versatile using adjustable wooden panels depending on the setting.
