Northern-Irish born Sid is involved with performance, composition and education Birmingham. As a bandleader and guitarist his long running group Surge has been championed by Tony Dudley-Evans and Birmingham Jazz, and released the album You Can't Buy Everything for Ever in 2005.

Sid's work brings influences as diverse as Frank Zappa, Dead Kennedys, Free Jazz and British Isles Folk together with players spanning differing idioms. Future projects include the formation of a larger composers group meeting and playing reguarly. Rumble rumble....
