Drummer Simon Spreyer is one of Birmingham's most in-demand and up-and-coming young musicians.

He has produced several original recordings crossing between electronic and acoustic timbres, such the featured Elbee. He is a frequent collaborator in Dan Nicholls' various groups - including the quartet with Loop Collective's Robin Finker - as well as providing drums, percussion, samples and scary noises in the earthshattering Massacre!!. A graduate of the Conservatoire jazz course and is still involved with many student ensembles.

Simon set up Cobweb's Criss-Cross jazz nights at the Cross, Moseley featuring young support bands and national stars, begining in February 2008.

From September Simon is relocating to Berlin to live and study under his idol John Hollenbeck.
