Opening in 1991 Symphony Hall gave the city a venue of international standing and is considered to be one of the finest concert halls in the U.K. As well as housing the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the venue offers a wide and diverse programme of classical, jazz, folk, pop music and stand-up comedy.
Coupled with the U.K's premier conference facilities, the I.C.C, Symphony Hall boasts a superbly acoustically engineered 'shoebox’ shaped auditorium seating 2262 which holds 320 of its of annual events. The building also houses restaurants, shops and the Level One foyer bar near its main entrance.
Birmingham Jazz uses this space 5 till 7 every Friday afternoon for their hugely popular Rush Hour Blues Concerts, holding the largest and most loyal audiene following in their programme.
