Located in Mosley a mere half-hour outside the city centre, The Cross is accesable via bus or cheap taxi ride. It's interior has a bright, welcoming atmosphere, furnished with leather sofas as well as a sizable downstairs dining area and swanky new cocktail bar. Food and drink aren't exactly budget price, but the European beers on tap and gourmet burgers ar well worth shelling out for.
Regular Criss-Cross jazz nights ran from November 07 to May 08 every tuesday evening in The Cross bar's spacious upstairs room featuring some of the city's finest young musicians, followed by a main act of national standing. Julian Seigel, Liam Noble and Troyka are some of the artists to have graced the stage here. Nights were set up by drummer and Moseley-ite Simon Spreyer, and despite its discontinuation, the pub remains a hospitable home for ie music and good night out.
So good, Ben Bryden dedicated a tune to the place!
