Originally from Derby, Tom was a long serving rhythm section member of the East Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra, along with his brother Andy Bunting. Since moving to Birmingham to study at the Conservatoire he remains on the scene and has played with numerous national stars including Allan Barnes, on the Derby Jazz progam.

Through Derby Jazz Tom is also receving a bursary for his ORnette inspired band BIRD FOOD and is focusing towards a Midlands tour in early 2009.
