Originally for York, Tom was ejected from the minster boys choir and subsequently studied on the jazz course at Birmingham Conservatoire.

Tom perfoms with many Cobweb bands and artists, including Ben Bryden, Aaron Diaz's Zappajazz and Baritone player Colin Mill various sonic incarnations as well as his own band the Tom Durham Group, soon to appear at the Yardbird.
